Can a person ever be too organized? Most of the population would probably be elated to be even just a little organized — to be able to arrive on time for appointments, find the things they are looking for, and get tasks done when needed. Being too organized is generally not a problem people struggle with! Most are just trying to put out the fires faster than new ones arise. Living with constant stress is both unhealthy and counterproductive.
Being even fractionally more organized would make most people’s days run smoother, and that is where I come in. As an efficiency expert and coach, I create solutions that help curtail overwhelming disorder in people’s physical environments and in their minds. I can help you determine and overcome the blocks that are keeping you from moving forward and achieving the success you want, even if that just means gaining peace of mind.
Here’s my first piece of advice:
Schedule your day logically. If you begin your day without a plan. Yep! It’s kind of like that! A sentence without logic or a point. The best time to plan your day is the night prior. This allows you to sleep better and gives a roaring start to your day because you can get into the action steps right away.
So, how do you make your plan for the day “logical”? When you write down the items you plan to tackle tomorrow, note how long you expect each item to take and see that the total time doesn’t exceed the time you have available in your day. Don’t set yourself up for failure right from the get-go! If you look at your list and say to yourself, “There is no way I can get all this done,” you are probably right.
